Photo Thursday on Friday.

Did a trail run at Aldergrove lake on Wednesday.  Pretty freakin awesome day, sun came out…  spring is coming.  Stretched out 10km in there, trail running has been pretty good last few weeks.  Been incorporating it more into my training to keep things a little fresher.

To the right gives you a pretty good view of Washington.

Nice change in trail.

Probably the most interesting part of the run.

It was suppose to be a track day on Thursday night but ended up running up to Hemlock Thursday to squeeze one more day of skiing in before it gets warm.  Hemlock has gotten 211cms in the last week.  I have never scene a snow pack like this up there…ever.

Walls of snow. Was cool in the morning so had some good turns first thing.

This was the last run of the day. Was getting pretty warm up there in the afternoon.

On the way up, in search on a fresh line.

Running Route Photos in BC

All this crazy weather has thrown a wrench into the training for this week.  A lot of speed trainer sessions and speed training on a treadmill, along with a more creative approach to tackle each day.

So I figured since I can’t really enjoy the elements of the outdoors on a bike or ripping a few miles with the  shoes on, I thought would use this as a chance to get some photos from of some of my favorite running spots.

One of my favorite shots in awhile. Down along the Fraser River.

Just Caught the birds Flying over

These photos are down at the mission bridge trail head.  I’ve used this route for a 28 km route.  7km each direction so you can pick if you want to head east or west.  Very scenic and the trail is like road running with wide paths,  also a quiet trail, and  great route if you have a dog.  Map here .

Hayward Lake, this is a trail I haven't done enough. 16km but you fight it like its 20. Up and down.

Here is a pretty good map of the trail that a fishing site had.  Map Here.

Mission Trail chuck

Got out for a daylight run which was nice and relaxing. Drove out to Mission bridge for some off-road, uninterrupted running. Started out windy and cold, the got down close to the river for about half the run. Legs ended up loosing up after about 35 minutes and felt pretty dam good. Almost a 14km route heading east and coming back the same way, quiet day on the trail with only two other people out enjoying some much needed sun time.

Glenmore Reservoir

While I was in Calgary I was able to spend my last day getting in a good size run.  The weather was amazing so it made it pretty easy to get outdoors and enjoy the sun.  I was lucky enough to stay at a place that was a near the Glenmore Reservoir, so I made my way over.  I was told it was about a 20km tour which felt a little shorter but none the less, one of the better paved trails I’ve ran.  The scenery was amazing, with high up views  over looking the reservoir on the north side, to rolling hills out in the country and ended off with a  quick run thru of heritage park.
