Cuba photography

Headed out to Cuba last Monday, got back on pretty much a red eye flight Tuesday morning at 4 am.  Was a pretty long flight back, being tucked in a little space.  I believe the flight was a solid 6 hours, going there was about 5 hours 40 minutes.

Spent 7 days at a 5 star resort which would normally be about a 4 in Mexico, I think mostly because the US doesn’t have any influence on the country.  Beaches are a lot better then Mexico with flatter, warmer and clearer water.  You also don’t have Mexicans bugging ya every few minutes to buy shit.

We headed into the Capital of Cuba, Havana for a day trip.  Saw how a lot of Cubans lived and what they lived in.  Some very interesting structures as well as a lot of variety of vehicles.  Many 50′s Americana cars, Chinese buses and Russian sports cars with very old Spanish architecture.

Didn’t do too much of the culture stuff since we stayed at an all inclusive but it was still quiet an eye opener see how these people lived.

Grabbing some of my favorite shots, I’ll add more probably to flickr later on.

Thursday Morning Photography.

Trying to get training back on track after a crazy wedding weekend.  One more work week then it will be Victoria time.  Getting pretty amped up, should be a good race and hopefully the weather will be as good as this last weekend.

I didn’t get a chance to put these photos up but here are some shots from Thursday morning.  I don’t think I have ever seen light like this.  I was loosing my mind when I saw it, and was so stoked when I saw my camera in the backseat.

theartprojectonline.com Friday night round up.

Some shots from friday night.  Fun time, good turn out and all around great event.  Some great feed back and thanks for all who attended. Can’t wait for our next show.

Picking through photo library

I’ve been procrastinating about picking through my pretty massive photo collection for our new site as well as getting some good shots for my portfolio Friday night @ the Fall.  I found this one photo of a drive into Vancouver, nothing great, but made me really see how lucky I am to be in such a great province.  Sunrise on the North Shore mountains never seems to get old.

I’ve been going on long runs with my camera on my back on out of town runs, but I  think I should be carrying it on local ones too.

Show Set up @ Artlife.

We got in Thursday night and hit Artlife Friday afternoon to hit the walls with our Art.  Things turned out really well, and the space was amazing for our little show.  I still have to get show images up but here are some shots of what we had to deal with as well as some of the set up to get the show ready.

West Vancouver view of Shangri-la

I was back in West Vancouver this morning and took a few more shots from the same house I wrote about a few months back.  I had to take full advantage for the morning view with the oil tanker.  This photo also gives you a great prepective of the Shangri-la in downtown Vancouver, the tallest building in BC.

We had a very large amount of snow out here in the valley.  Here is a shot of the aftermath a dat after on the 2nd of January.  I was heading into Vancouver to help out a friend change his floors.  I will be adding a whole list of images hopefully end of this month with a lot of new shots that will be added to the art project.
