Olympic gold
by Nathan on Mar.01, 2010, under regular day BS
I’m gathering up my photos from my ski trip last week but had to jump the gun and throw some up from the big hockey game yesterday afternoon. Decided to get up and get my training in early so I could get downtown for the madness. I didn’t stay for the after party but did get to see the game. The whole thing was fun to watch, horns going through the night and the hangover begins.

Took a few shots of the after all the ripping and shredding. It was a cool but beautiful morning and had some sun creeping into the living room. So very interesting light and makes the morning that more enjoyable when its not raining!
Hope everyone had a good Christmas and are getting pumped for 2010. Should be a great year with a lot of good things to look forward to.

Cuba photography
by Nathan on Dec.03, 2009, under regular day BS, travel
Headed out to Cuba last Monday, got back on pretty much a red eye flight Tuesday morning at 4 am. Was a pretty long flight back, being tucked in a little space. I believe the flight was a solid 6 hours, going there was about 5 hours 40 minutes.
Spent 7 days at a 5 star resort which would normally be about a 4 in Mexico, I think mostly because the US doesn’t have any influence on the country. Beaches are a lot better then Mexico with flatter, warmer and clearer water. You also don’t have Mexicans bugging ya every few minutes to buy shit.
We headed into the Capital of Cuba, Havana for a day trip. Saw how a lot of Cubans lived and what they lived in. Some very interesting structures as well as a lot of variety of vehicles. Many 50’s Americana cars, Chinese buses and Russian sports cars with very old Spanish architecture.
Didn’t do too much of the culture stuff since we stayed at an all inclusive but it was still quiet an eye opener see how these people lived.
Grabbing some of my favorite shots, I’ll add more probably to flickr later on.

by Nathan on Oct.05, 2009, under Art
Trying to get training back on track after a crazy wedding weekend. One more work week then it will be Victoria time. Getting pretty amped up, should be a good race and hopefully the weather will be as good as this last weekend.
I didn’t get a chance to put these photos up but here are some shots from Thursday morning. I don’t think I have ever seen light like this. I was loosing my mind when I saw it, and was so stoked when I saw my camera in the backseat.

Picking through photo library
by Nathan on Sep.16, 2009, under Art
I’ve been procrastinating about picking through my pretty massive photo collection for our new site as well as getting some good shots for my portfolio Friday night @ the Fall. I found this one photo of a drive into Vancouver, nothing great, but made me really see how lucky I am to be in such a great province. Sunrise on the North Shore mountains never seems to get old.
I’ve been going on long runs with my camera on my back on out of town runs, but I think I should be carrying it on local ones too.
Some shots on the way into Vancouver.

Thought I would share some of what I saw on the way into Vancouver this morning. It was about 6:30. Some pretty good light just after some rainin. I’m needing to use the camera more…

I still have to get show images up but here are some shots of what we had to deal with as well as some of the set up to get the show ready.
Artlife is located at 1312 1st SW Calgary Alberta Canada. Website is here.
West Vancouver view of Shangri-la
by Nathan on Apr.23, 2009, under regular day BS
I was back in West Vancouver this morning and took a few more shots from the same house I wrote about a few months back. I had to take full advantage for the morning view with the oil tanker. This photo also gives you a great prepective of the Shangri-la in downtown Vancouver, the tallest building in BC.
Quick Facts:
Shangri-la 65 floors
51,000 cubic meter of concrete
7, ooo tones of steel
Has the deepest excavation of 26m- 3m deeper then One Wall Center
cost 350 million to build. (Canadian)
