Seattles Rock and Roll Museum
by Nathan on Aug.23, 2009, under music, travel
Last week while I was in Seattle I headed to the Rock and Roll museum, the building alone is quite interesting. Admission was 14.50 and I would say it’s worth going, especially if you are a Jim Hendrix fan. They had a huge amount of Jimmy things from over the years, I didn’t realize that he was from Seattle. Plenty of facts, images, clothing and smashed up guitars.
Two things that really stuck out for me was the large guaitar sculputure, with the second being how well they had their interactive displays layed out. You could spend a solid few days combing over all the information that they had. Along with the music history and displays they also carry other displays. When we were there they were getting ready for a large science fiction display with a lot of star trek crap as well as a third section for the kids carrying Muppet “stuff”.

flexisonic at le.tanque
by Nathan on May.20, 2009, under music, regular day BS
Over at le.tanque, they have released an album. I was hit with it on my drive home from Calgary, and my 10 inch sub was booming all the way home. Very good, and very bass heavy and still being played in my truck. If you jump over to le.tanque you can snag yourself a copy and piss your neighbors off. I’d do it.
The crew is flexisonic and from what I know they like music, a lot. GLUBTCH volume 1.

Doom Day…
Rhymesayers and Mac Lethal
by Nathan on Apr.27, 2009, under music
Ah Mondays, my favorite day of the week. The day you wish it was Friday, especially when you are feeling a little hung over still from Saturday. That also means I don’t feel like doing much after hour work. I usually spend my time looking around the net looking for cool shit to read, but I gotta have some new music to keep from getting board.
I was over at rhymesayers checking out what’s happening over there. The lucky people in Calgary had a tour stop of Atmosphere and crew this weekend. I’m kinda choked that they skipped Vancouver , ah well… I am sure the show was amazing, even if the flames just got kick outa the playoffs.
Another cool thing that I love about this label is that they do an amazing job of spreading their music and videos around, from Youtube.com, to keeping up their artists’ myspace pages loaded with playlists. They also have a few songs for download, as well as streaming video right from Rhymesayers.com. I am kinda hooked on Rotten Apple by Mac Lethal. He might not like me saying this but his style reminds me of Eminem, he has a more realistic angle then Eminem. Good beats, and good lyrics.
Lithium Lips, Slow Down Baby, and Shotgun are a few that top my list
Check’em out. Heres a pretty good video, that I applied to my weekend too.
Check out rhymesayers tour dates here. I see P.O.S. will be doing the Vans Wrap Tour, so there might be an appearance from others artists when they hit Thunderbird stadium in Vancouver, BC this summer. I see 3oh3 is back on, but that’s for another day.
BUCK 65’s new tunes for Free
by Nathan on Feb.18, 2009, under music
Music is key for me to get things going esp. when you have to huck redbull nights that turn into redbull mornings. Buck65 is a hip hop dude from Canada. I’ve seen him a few times and the last time was at the pemberton music festival.
The point of all this…. well on his site if you search around you can get almost 3 hours of free music that I have listen to 3 times over now. Its fuckin amazing. Apparently he has a show on CBC radio 2 now as well as touring. Hes a crazy dude.

As I work as a shut in-I’ve been hunting for new music to keep me up. I have really been into MF DOOM/ MADLIP, the newest being Sage Francis, Mac lethal. I’m usually rocking out to Atmosphere and a lot of these guys all work together. Between Stone Throw Records, Rhymesayers Entertainment, and Strange Famous, these guys keep it all away from the major labels. I really admire that. They do it for the music and its awesome as shit.
