::Wine Country scenery, training, and racin::

Most people that have or about to do Ironman Canada are well aware of a little place called Oliver. At about 40km into your bike ride with hopefully a tail wind, you blast through main street. Most are also aware that their city hosts one of the most popular half ironman races in the first week in June with roughly 800 or more racers.

::One of the old houses along the wine fields, this is also on the bike route of the Oliver half Iron::

I’ve been racing in Oliver since I started triathlon and this half ironman was my very first triathlon. Over the last 3 seasons I have been coming back to race but also use Oliver as a great place to train in preparations for Ironman Canada.

I just throw the camper on and head to wine country. I stay at the Lakeside Resort, which beaches the swim leg of the race. It’s pretty tough to beat this little resort. A quick walk to the start line on race day morning is pretty dam nice. I look forward to shaving some time of last years mark and some fast racing.
