I’m not sure how many times I’ve done this race, but it was 39th time it was put on.  Race cap at 300 runners, from what I hear they reached that number between the 6.5 mile race (one loop) and the half marathon. (obviously two loops.)  Love doing this race for many reasons, best is it keeps me running through the holidays.  Race goes on a Sunday and doesn’t get you up too early with 8:30 chip pick up.  Race start for the half marathon is  10 and  with the 6.5 miler going 10:15.  28 bucks Canadian, roughly 3 dollars US gets you the chip and 4 pins.  Over the years this has been a pretty fast race, but this year seem a little light on the speeders.

I’ve done the half marathon the first few times in the past and decided that the 6.5 miles is good enough to see how much I ate and drank over the holidays.  This year proved to be one of the best eating and drinking holidays yet.  I was hoping for sub 40, closer to 39 and came in at 40.11.  Good enough for 4th.

Getting ready for the start, the little white tent was the finish area.

Race morning was amazing with the fog just starting to peel off the lake as the races where about to start.  I was able to grab a few shots before the race, and really wished I had my SLR with me.  Another good race and getting ready to lay down some hard work for a half marry in Feb.  Looking forward to another season of Team Every Man Jack and many stops at my favorite tri shop- Trigeeks.ca
