ironman jersey design

Finally getting around to a design for the jersey that I will hopefully sport for most of the summer.  Finding the time was probably the more challenging part.  Here is a shot of the logo and then close to the final design for the shirt.

Running and more running

Here is a good 22km route Downtown Vancouver that I ran on Saturday morning.  Weather was crappy but still felt pretty good busting it out.

Finally swiped the credit card for the BMO Marathon on the 2nd and felling like the day can’t come soon enough. Pretty pumped for this years race season. Also locked down my campground for the June 6th halfiron in Oliver. Found this awesome photo of the pool.

This is serious

Two more weeks until it all starts up.

Bike stuff

Headed out on the bike Sunday morning for one of the longest rides to date, thought I had my bike all tuned up and ready but I ended up having a few little issues near the end of the ride.  At the 2 hour 20 mark my rear tire fell apart but I had a few extra tubes so that got me on my way back to the starting part.   My legs felt a little stiff from the run the day before but body is fine, just not bike this round.

New stuff, minus the tubes

I went on a little shopping trip and picked up 2 tires, 2 water bottles, 2 tubes, and another water bottle rack.   Spent 160 dollars and still need a few more parts.  Just over 300 dollars in extras after buying the bike, and thinking about another 200-400 dollars more.

New Tire, old tire

After mounting the tire, I also found that the latch that holds the rear wheel on also needed to be replaced. Pretty happy I was at home when this one happened.  All and all the bike has performed pretty well so far and thinking I might not be needing a new one.   I guess after a few more heavier days and  I will know for sure.  I think I will know for sure after June 6ths race.

New Tires, water bottle holder, and mounted the air pump.

Saturday Maximum

On the way in @ about 10:30am Saturday morning

Finally a good spring day and tried to take full advantage.  Headed into Vancouver for a seawall, Stanley park and Jericho run.  It was my longest run before the May 2nd BMO marathon, and there was no better way to get ready for this one then to run most of the course.  Tons of people out running and riding so it wasn’t hard to get into the right frame of mind.

Headed out past lost lagoon, around Stanley Park, down through False Creek and Athletes Village and past Granville Island.  Took a straight route through Kits and all the way down Jericho Beach til the hill to UBC.  Turned it around straight back to the city with the amazing view all the way back over Burrard Street Bridge and back to my truck parked at second beach pool.    Finished off the day with a bike for two quick loops around Stanley park roadway.

Run was about 3:10 minutes, with 40 mintue bike.

Used mapmyrun.com for milage, telling me about 38 km,  I think its closer to 40 with a the trail winding but overal a pretty solid route for training.  Here is a link-hopefully it works or an over view.
