Camper fixin

Getting things back together and trying to get it ready for may long weekend!

New wood and extra "parts" to hold it together

Everything peeled back into place and a putty to keep the water out.

Ready for the Jack. Some minor damage to the siding from peeling it back but all in all not a bad fix.

Trying to get some of the inside all fixed up next and hooking up a new fridge.  Hopefully that gets taken care of next week.  Its all got to be ready for Penticton on the Maylong weekend for some Ironman bike course riding and maybe run the Peach city half marathon.

Camper Build up

Picked up the camper last friday and started to get at it.  Picked it up for 700 bucks in pretty good condition but still needs some TLC.

Pulled two of the jacks of the passenger side for some corner rebuilding, a little rot in the corners. Pulled some screws out after they shifted and pulled from maxing out from  getting it on my truck.

Another issue was a past leak in the passenger side overhang.  A little dry rot that also needs to be pulled out and replaced.  Already started pulling boards back to see how bad things are and overall the camper is in pretty solid shape and should be ready for the race season.

Iron Update

The running shoe rack.

I have been going  solid on the training  since Christmas and feeling pretty good.  Legs are feeling tired almost on a daily basis with all the biking,  but going to have to trade a few of the biking days into runs for the up coming marathon in less then 2 months.  Overall feeling strong and wanting to get into a race soon.

As the weeks move on (I think I am on the 15th week) so has the dollar amount.  I missed running the Fort Half, but  just signed up for the Oliver Half Iron on June the 6th and planning on doing another half later on in the season.    I will be racing the BMO Vancouver marathon on the second of May and maybe another trip down to Vegas for the Rock and Roll race.  I am almost @ a thousand dollars this year alone on race fees!

Along with racing goes more equipment, I bought a new set of race day running shoes, and  looking at getting my wetsuit for the lake.  The Bike has been able to hold up so far, and so has the trainer.

One of the major purchases that I was wanting to get before the spring was a camper.   I recently just bought one on Wednesday and will have some pictures of the house on wheels here soon.

Day off tomorrow and then back at it Saturday.  I will be getting on the fundraising train here in the next few weeks, so for those who would like to donate check this page out!

Cliff Your Ride

Last month I spent quite a few hours working with Vacuum Design on a contest for  autotrader.ca.  Contest is called Cliff your Ride, if you have a shitty car and want to get a new one, enter yourself into this contest for 30, 000 towards a new one while watching the old one sail off a cliff.

Site and video put together by Vacuum Design, I built the car and did the animation for the logo at the start of the video.  See below.  Pretty fun little project.

Backcountry trip

Shots from last week, finally getting some together.  We head up the duffy lake road just up from Pemberton.  Felt weird being back there, since the last time was for the big music festival.  Sledded into a cabin up the valley and stayed for 5 nights and four days of solid skiing.  Had some good skiing, but were limited on what we could ski since the snow was pretty unstable.

Got up a 4:00am to get past the Olympic check point Saturday morning and then head into the mountains.  We ended up stopping in Whistler for lunch on the way back but not much was going on.  I’ll try and add some video off my phone from our walk through center of the village and I’ll add more pictures once I find some time.

Olympic gold

I’m gathering up my photos from my ski trip last week but had to jump the gun and throw some up from the big hockey game yesterday afternoon.  Decided to get up and get my training in early so I could get downtown for the madness.  I didn’t stay for the after party but did get to see the game.  The whole thing was fun to watch, horns going through the night and the hangover begins.

Sun coming in through the window @ the Met.

Had Sun coming just as the game was finishing up. Pretty cool thing to see.
