Art and Olympic Shots
by Nathan on Jan.28, 2010, under Art, Beer + ed, regular day BS
Spent my Saturday night hitting up a few events in Vancouver, first was a show and auction held by PUBLIC magazine! in a cool little space across from the new Woodwards building. Some really cool pieces and a good mix of different talent. Shots from the show can be seen here.
After the Public magazine launch party, we headed down to Chapel Arts for I heart Van Arts Launch Party for a festival that will be during the Olympics in Yaletown. The crew that put this event on did an amazing job and used the the chapel to perfection . A lot of talented artists, as well as a large range of mediums from the music, art, and sculpture. I was impressed with the overall set up and huge turn out. They are also looking for volunteers for the festival during the olympics, so check out their site if your interested.
After the night out, headed down to some of the main venue that will house the Olympics. Some really interesting structures and buildings all around the false creek area. The hype has started. I don’t have any tickets but I will have to head down and see the gears turning, maybe check out a few of the free things going on. Found a list free music concerts from vancouverisawesome.com.
Crazy Weather

Got my first turns of the year on Friday, headed up to Hemlock where there was only one main chair up and some crazy weather. Was raining pretty hard in the morning at the house and it wasn’t too much cooler at the ski hill. It was snowing but very heavy and wet, they reduce ticket price to 34 dollars so I guess that’s about 5 dollars per run.
Got my training in, in the afternoon and grabbed my camera for some sun breakin shots, and then hit up the AHL Abbotsford Heat game to finish off the day. Fun Friday.

Photos from yesterday for today. Shots around my house, went for a wonder. Got some happy shots before it started pissing rain. Will be adding some pix to our stock digital downloads section on TAPO.
Framing and Presenting
by Nathan on Jan.11, 2010, under Art
Been playing around with a few ideas for wood frames, and different ways to present art. In a previous post I had some fun with chemical stain and good old fire. Some shots of what the original frame looks like with out fire with a different piece. Looking for some feedback…which is better. These pieces have been added to the ART PRO. If you want one, try out our new ordering system, its pretty mental, in a good way.

Ironman Fundraiser
by Nathan on Jan.06, 2010, under regular day BS, running
Solid week into my training for the 2010 year and getting pumped for some upcoming events. As mentioned in a previous post the main focus of this year is the Ironman in Penticton, BC. I’ll post most of my training and day to day shit on twitter, with more scenic training days and races via the blog.
Another fairly large goal I have for this year is to raise 5, 000 dollars for the Heart and Stroke Fountain in coordinates with the Ironman. It took me a little while to figure out which charity to help out especially since have dealt with others with the Art Project. I thought this one was a good fit and hope others can help along the way.
I have set up a third party page on the Heart and Stroke Fountain site for quick and easy donations. You can print you tax form right from the site. If you don’t feel comfortable donating online you can print and mail a form, or you contact me directly. I have also created a special section on this blog that will remain “sticky” for anytime donations or a quick link to check out the status of how things are going.
I am planning on designing a t-shirt to help spread the word, I hope to have those ready for the Half Marathon in Feburary. Let me know if anyone is interested in recieving one.
